TRAINING TECHNICIAN

As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN, GS-1702-09, you will administer the training and Career Development Program for both full time and DSG personnel. Develop local directives for the administration and control of the training programs. Advise the commander and staff as to the skill manning of personnel assigned to the organization and projected manning increases. Coordinate training schedules with sections and activities outside of the organization to minimize disruption of the training programs. Coordinate and track the special capabilities training with Pilot Units to ensure special capabilities training are met. Monitor the progression of all personnel entered into upgrade training, and counsels personnel as to their responsibilities, deficiencies, and problem areas. Plan and coordinate with Base Education and Training Manager regarding Basic Military Training, formal school requests, training that are assigned without the required AFSC. Establishes a Test Control Facility to administer controlled tests for personnel enrolled in mandatory or voluntary career development courses. Supervise and conduct inspections of all RED HORSE training activities to ensure that records are maintained in accordance with established directives. Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Representative. Monitor and maintain all information relative to CCAF participation and enrollment. Organize unit training requirements. Develop and manage RED HORSE special capabilities and contingency training program for all technicians, AGRs and DSG personnel. Plan and coordinate schedules for personnel who will attend special capability contingency schools and other training agencies. Perform other duties as assigned. APPOINTMENT STATUS:

Currently employed permanent technicians MAY BE able to retain their permanent status and based on the current Unit Manning Document (UMD) and projected resourcing this will allow the applicant to occupy this position as a Permanent Promotion or Reassignment. If there are projected changes in the funding resourcing of the advertised position individuals will be placed on a Temporary action such as Temporary Promotion or Temporary Reassignment. These actions may result in the employee having to return to their prior Permanent Position when changes to the manning occur. Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Experience:
All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. Experiences, education, or training that demonstrated the ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain instructions, regulations, and procedures that otherwise demonstrates the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position. Experience:
Applicant must indicate at least 12 months experience equivalent to the GS-07. Experiences that demonstrated the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (Competencies/KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position. Have experiences in conducting and developing education and training programs. Also, experienced in conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs. Experienced in managing programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries Experienced in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products. Experiences in training program management; scheduling training events and facilities; conducting assistance visits and training meetings; work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; military personnel classification system and policies; communicative interpersonal skill applications; and distance learning concepts. Experienced and effective communicator. Experiences as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. Experiences in organizing and preparing instructional materials. Understands and applies formal training objectives. Experienced in preparing assignments, laboratory exercises, demonstrations, training aids, and references and related material required to parallel and supplement course outline. Experienced in the art of instructing personnel, such as determining the instructional methods for class size and subject matter. Experienced in using audiovisual aids such as, mockups, graphs, training films, and film strips. Experienced in training aids such as, achievement and aptitude tests and rating scales. Experienced in identifying and conducting individual learning difficulties diagnoses and recommends courses of remedial instruction. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

Length of time is not of itself qualifying. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
