AIRMAN AND FAMILY READINESS PROGRAM MANAGER

As an Airman and Family Readiness Program Manager, GS-0301-09, you will assist the Air National Guard Wing leadership in the development and implementation of a family readiness and support program and provide family readiness assistance at the GSUs. Provide plans for an efficient resource management program and maximum support of service delivery. Identify family issues that require exploration, development, and resolutions, and determine appropriate methods and resources. Coordinate information for seminars, conferences, and orientation workshops as appropriate for family members and volunteers. Maintain adequate records and databases to administer the family program and to provide the necessary reports to the Mission Support Flight (MSF) Commander/Human Resource Officer (Director of Personnel (DP)) and SFPD. Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion NTE or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status. Employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who is not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments do not acquire permanent status and do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice GENERAL
Experience:
Competent experiences that are commensurate or equivalent to SAPR Program business, with demonstrated understandings of the principles and concepts defined by a practical knowledge of family programs, military community services, victim advocacy and/or associated functional areas. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Application must indicate at least 24 semester hours of completed college course work in the social sciences. The coursework and pertinent volunteer experience, in fields associated with those specified in the position description, are acceptable only where it clearly provides applicants with the background education and competency necessary for successful job performance such as, studies in the Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Welfare, Education, or Human Resources. In addition to the education, the application must posses at least six months military and/or civilian experience at a novice competency level in one of the personnel programs, family programs, or community service programs. Experience in supporting the VA and SARC in the work activities concerning social concerns, health and wellness, or trauma recovery conditions.Experience in maintaining effective professional relationships. Experience identifying potential problems. Experience in presenting formal and informal program briefings to senior leaders. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. - Knowledge of family readiness and support program to provide sound advice and assistance to the Air Commander. - Ability to analyze Wing/GSU family readiness and support budget functions and provide recommendations to resolve existing or forecasted shortages. - Ability to develop a record system to track available volunteers for base family activities, particular services, and specialty expertise. - Skills in conducting briefings and training for family members and volunteers. PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION COSTS WILL NOT BE PAID FOR THIS POSITION. NOTE:
The incumbent of this position must have, at a minimum, a completed Tier 1 Security Clearance prior to position assignment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
