SUPPLY TECHNICIAN

As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN, GS-2005-07, you will manage the Squadron mobility equipment and supply programs and provides training to drill status guardsmen in accomplishment of these tasks. Work with the Supervisory Supply Technician to provide data for planning, formulating, analyzing, and coordinating supply budget submissions. Manage assigned equipment/material accounts through a sophisticated Integrated Engineering Management computer system. Perform a variety of state and Federal purchasing agent functions to procure engineering specific items through use of the Federal IMPAC card program and to accomplish all-inclusive Operations and Maintenance (O&M) purchases. Maintain/utilize current Federal supply catalogs, stock lists, GSA catalogs, cross reference lists, commercial manufacturers' parts lists and catalogs. Serve as liaison for materials and services purchased by contract. Conduct extensive research for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns unique to RED HORSE and to locate more cost effective available substitutes and new products. Monitor, control, and manage computerized status files concerning tools, equipment, and materials on order. Oversee and direct programs in support of unit deployment requirements. Assist Supervisory Supply Technician who serves as the primary point of contact between deployment work centers for all deployable assets. Operate and manage supply storage facilities, to include those at geographically separated units and training sites. Coordinate movement of equipment and material to and from installation. Manage the Material Safety Data Sheet master file. Plan for and ensure proper marking of equipment and hazardous/sensitive materials. Perform vehicle control responsibilities. Monitor Due-In-From-Maintenance assets (i.e. manual, electronic, and computerized surveying equipment, GPS equipment, laser measuring devices, mechanical measuring devices, radios, etc). Perform other duties as assigned. APPOINTMENT STATUS:

Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the Pennsylvania National Guard. INDEFINITE:
Currently employed permanent technicians MAY BE able to retain their permanent status and based on the current Unit Manning Document (UMD) and projected resourcing this will allow the applicant to occupy this position as a Permanent Promotion or Reassignment. If there are projected changes in the funding resourcing of the advertised position individuals will be placed on a Temporary action such as Temporary Promotion or Temporary Reassignment. These actions may result in the employee having to return to their prior Permanent Position when changes to the manning occur. Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Military Grades:

Experience:
Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicant must indicate at least 12 months experience, education, or training which demonstrates a thorough knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Experience performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. - Knowledge of governing Federal and state supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions and their relationship to a total engineering logistics supply program; and an intensive and in-depth knowledge of local supply and civil engineer requirements for materials and how they are used in construction and maintenance and repair work to ensure support for engineering projects. - Ability to conduct extensive and exhaustive searches/review of records and demand data to determine if property has become obsolete or excess to need, to construct records for complex supply transactions, and to provide support for projects involving complex supply transactions or in obtaining unique RED HORSE supplies or equipment. - Skill in identifying and establishing special storage locations, ability to determine stock levels, and to ensure project material is separated from regularly stocked items. - Understanding of RED HORSE Operations and Engineering trade tools and special deployable assets. - Knowledge and understanding of SORTS reporting requirements. Experience:
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
