1. While current vacancies exist in the Outpatient Clinic, the Centralized Scheduling Unit and CBOC Horsham, this announcement can be used to fill additional Supervisory MSA GS-679-07 vacancies throughout Health Administration Services. 2. Subject as needed to rotate and provide coverage for the Main Site, the Annex, or any of the CBOC locations to include the various tours:
Inpatient 4 pm - 12:
30 am / Outpatient - 7:
30 am - 4pm; 8 am - 4:

30 am - 5 pm. 3. Depending on the clinic:
Subject as needed to work off-tours, rotations into all shifts, evenings, nights, weekends or holidays as needed. 4. Required to support and present off-site during Non-Tour Hours at events (Outreach, Stand-Down, Veteran Service Officer Events, etc.). -Works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model. -Supervised customer service and other Medical Support Assistant duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients, timely and accurate completion of reports and associated administrative tasks and assure appointment schedules are maintained by staff for one or more clinics. -Assures staff explains the VA's mandate to collect insurance information to veterans, their families, and other eligible patients. -Assures positive front line contacts with patients and staff by setting the tone for perception concerning quality of healthcare services at the VA. -Trains staff on the requirements of the VHA Scheduling Directives and complete accurate scheduling responsibilities. -Independently manage position responsibilities with little supervision as well as set priorities and deadlines adjusting the flow and sequencing of the work to meet team and patient needs. -May be asked to assist in the Beneficiary Travel Program and Health Benefits Unit and other duties within the clinic. -Plans/organizes work with general assistance from the supervisor to meet local and VA-wide timeframes to complete analysis requirements, reports and special assignments and only refers to the non-routine and high technical problems to his/her supervisor. -Communicates with physicians, case managers, and other allied health professional staff using sound interpersonal skills and is constantly aware of the sensitive information. -Orients medical staff to administrative policies and procedures dealing with outpatient scheduling, eligibility for VA healthcare and other administrative topics. -Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. -Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately. Work Schedule:
Full-time - Tours as stated above. I. BASIC REQUIREMENTS. a. Citizenship. Citizen of the United States. (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g.) b. Experience and Education (1) Experience. Six months experience of clerical, office or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position; or (2) Education. One year above high school; or (3) Experience/Education Combination. Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable. c. Certification. None required. d. Physical Requirements. See VA Directive and Handbook 5019. e. English Language Proficiency. Medical Support Assistants must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, part II, chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3j. II GRADE REQUIREMENTS a. Creditable Experience (1) Knowledge of Current Medical Support Assistant (MSA) Practices. To be creditable, the experience must have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with current MSA duties along with related MSA responsibilities. Experience satisfying this requirement may be paid/non-paid employment as a MSA. (2) Quality of Experience. Qualifying experience must be at a level comparable to MSA experience at the next lower grade level. b. Grade Determinations. The following criteria must be met when determining the grade of candidates. GS-7 Supervisory Medical Support Assistant Experience - One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) in federal government which is related and relevant to Medical Support Assistant duties and responsibilities as listed in the vacancy announcement. b. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Candidates must demonstrate the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in addition to the required experience - please incorporate in description of your duties or address separately on bond paper:
1. Ability to provide the full range of administrative and supervisory duties which includes assignment of work, performance evaluations, selection of staff, and recommendation of awards and/or advancements. 2. Ability to collaborate, communicate, and demonstrate customer service and interpersonal skills with all healthcare professionals to ensure quality/continuity of care and ensure compliance with established policies and regulations. 3. Ability to provide briefings, orientations, staff development and training. 4. Work is sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work - may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts. No special demands are required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
