SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST

As a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST, GS-0342-09, you will plan, direct, and coordinate the unit administrative functions. Manage forms development, design, control, storage and dissemination. Perform Client Support Administrator (CSA) information systems and technology support functions. Provide information management (IM) support. Maintain unit attendance records and the notification and counseling of military members concerning requirements and the consequences of failure to satisfactorily participate. Responsible for maintaining the unit Global Command and Control System (GCCS) to include being the COMSEC (Communications Security) Responsible Officer (CRO). Manage the unit's database and locator information of each unit member's home of record and phone numbers to ensure members are contacted quickly and effectively, when needed. Perform other duties as assigned. APPOINTMENT STATUS:

Qualified, currently employed Title 32 Federal Technicians working at the location specified in the job announcement. Category 2:
Qualified, currently employed Title 32 Federal Technicians of the Pennsylvania National Guard. (Army and/or Air) Category 3:
Qualified, currently employed Federal Employees (T5) or Federal Technicians (T32) within the Pennsylvania National Guard (Army and/or Air). Category 4:
Qualified current members of the Pennsylvania National Guard. (Army and/or Air) Category 5:
Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Currently employed permanent technicians MAY BE able to retain their permanent status and based on the current Unit Manning Document (UMD) and projected resourcing this will allow the applicant to occupy this position as a Permanent Promotion or Reassignment. If there are projected changes in the funding resourcing of the advertised position individuals will be placed on a Temporary action such as Temporary Promotion or Temporary Reassignment. These actions may result in the employee having to return to their prior Permanent Position when changes to the manning occur. Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. Military Grades:

Experience:
Experience, education or training in administrative, professional, technical, or other work that provided knowledge of support services. Knowledge of administrative methods and procedures used in planning, organizing work, and skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Must have at least 24 months experience in dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for support service functions required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved. Experience planning and directing a variety of clerical operations. Experience using methods and procedural steps, and working under general instructions to meet the objectives of support services programs. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. - Experience in administrative, professional, technical, or other work that provided knowledge of support services. - Knowledge of administrative methods and procedures used in planning, organizing work, and skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. - Experience using computer and automation systems. - Experience planning and directing a variety of clerical operations. - Experience using methods and procedural steps, and working under general instructions to meet the objectives of support services programs. - Knowledge of the organization, programs, missions, and functions of an ANG RED HORSE unit for the purpose of providing IM support. - Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. Experience:
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
