Financial Services Representative Job Description:
Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learn new skills, and receive technical assistance in developing new accounts.
Customize programs to suit individual customers, often covering a variety of risks.
Develop marketing strategies to compete with other individuals or companies who sell financial products.
Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies and products to promote sales of insurance plans and financial products
Interview prospective clients to obtain data about their financial resources and needs, the physical condition of the person to be insured, and discuss any existing coverages or financial holdings
Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and reports
Seek out new clients and develop clientele by networking to find new customers and generate lists of prospective clients
Sell various types of insurance policies and financial products to businesses and individuals
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Financial Services Representative Skills and Qualifications:
BA, BS, and/or graduate degree or equivalent work experience required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
