Objective:
The primary responsibilities of the ACH Processor are to assist the ACH Team Leader and serve as a backup, to coordinate and perform the daily ACH processing functions including settlement and adherence to NACHA and Federal Reserve time constraints, rules and testing of system upgrades.
This position will provide guidance to peers, excellent customer service, process improvement initiatives, and assist in the management of workflow to meet daily deadlines adhering to policy and procedures minimizing risk of loss to the Bank.

Responsible for the daily processing of inbound Fed ACH files within prescribed time frames, performing daily ACH settlements and any necessary research to resolve any discrepancies.
Set up customer notification of returns via Fed EDI/NOC transmission.
Responsible for daily ACH file origination processing from all sources and performing callbacks on all credit origination files as well as dual control sending files prior to processing deadlines.
Ensure that credit overages and expirations are managed per policy and maintain processing file calendar.
Responsible for processing of Federal Reserve ACH files including releasing warehouse items and completion of exception marking within prescribed time frames.
Create, review and release returns to ensure return codes have been correctly provided.
Prepare daily ACH and Fed ACH settlement including all applicable files and accounts as well as research.
and resolve ACH differences.
Responsible for accurately completing file maintenance and secure retention of original requests for all ACH items.
Perform necessary investigation and process all Death notices/reclamations adhering to Green Book rules.
Post and clear uncollectible claims in General Ledger.
Follow-up on any collection activities required.
Provide secondary support on customer calls for Treasury Management services.
Assist in testing and documenting procedures and processes for ACH functions.
Provide backup support in testing and implementation of ACHPlus and Miser Core system upgrades as well as updating business continuity system.
Alert management to any issues that prevent daily processing immediately, Assist Commercial Services Manager on special projects and other duties as requested.
Assists in the development of new business for Firstrust.
Is alert to expressed customer/prospect needs to suggest appropriate services.
Directs customers to appropriate person to establish business relationships.
Remain current on NACHA rules, compliance items and annual updates to ensure Bank maintains AAP status.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities:
High School Diploma or GEDThree years banking experience focused on bank operations and ACH processing (AAP preferred)Excellent customer service with clear and professional communicationsStrong accounting, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate computer skills in the Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to multi-task with a degree of versatility and flexibility.
Demonstrates friendly, positive attitude, self-motivator.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
