About The Function:
Job Summary Our client, a privately held construction company, needs a Director of Finance.
The Director of Finance is responsible for the company's financial actions and must be customer service oriented and possess effective interpersonal and strategic leadership skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises the accounting/finance department in accordance with company's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training and engaging employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance assessments; resolving issues.
Position Responsibilities Member of the Leadership Team Promote and contribute to a forward-looking mindset to achieve the mission, vision and values set forth by the company.
Provide guidance to the leadership team through effective communication of financial reporting (profitability, cash flow, forecasting), and KPI development.
Identify/report areas of efficiencies; develop plans to improve or capitalize on these areas.
Finance, Accounting, & Payroll Lead and develop the accounting team; set measurable goals; provide feedback through team meetings, 1-on-1's and reviews to assure accountability.
Oversee preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and forecasting.
Ensure accurate record keeping.
Oversight and maintain margin on products and services that can achieve company goals.
Identify, recommend, and assist in implementing tax strategies that match company strategy.
Oversight of outsourced payroll processing; ensure accuracy of payroll and compliance.
Risk Management & Compliance Treasury oversight; recommend utilization of money, consider risk and liquidity, and best mix of debt, equity and internal financing.
Identify risks and take proactive measures to reduce exposure in areas not limited to cyber-security, legal, personnel and compliance.
Oversight and preparation of external company audits, insurance and healthcare/benefit elections & applications.
Information Technology Understand processes, systems, and their underlying data; work with team members to optimize use of technology.
Identify and recommend areas of improvement with technology, participate in development and implementation plans.
Use technology to produce accurate reporting and data which can lead to strategic discussions of company opportunities and weaknesses.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related is required.

years of fiscal management required.

years supervisory experience required.
Strong understanding of GAAP, Construction Operations, Job Costing, WIP and Cash Management.
Strongly prefer experience working in smaller, entrepreneurial companies.
Servant leader, even ego, willing to help where needed, team oriented Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Compensation Target $125,000 to $135,000.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
