Description
This position will help define and shape the strategy within the Quality Systems function, as well as lead Project execution. This opportunity involves leading and delivering critical sector as well as Enterprise Quality Systems initiatives on-time, on-budget, on-scope, on-quality and on-value, while meeting customer needs. As a member of the Quality Systems Business Unit IT team, the candidate will be called upon to lead global cross-functional teams, and will work with key business partners across the organization to drive and implement these initiatives. Understanding that Quality is a competitive advantage for J&J;, the candidate will help to reinforce this vision, by executing against defined strategies.
As part of the Project management role, the candidate will be accountable for all project deliverables, and be required to develop and deliver status and recommendations to senior management on key initiatives. Leading large project teams, the incumbent is expected to develop project schedules, manage budgets, define cross-functional deliverables, as well as identify and manage project priorities. Key competencies include; ability for early identification of execution issues and opportunities, developing and delivering viable alternatives and contingency plans, leading and engaging teams in necessary debate, while demonstrating prudent risk management strategies. The ability to understand, manage and thrive in a changing business, technology and organizational environment is strongly desired.
Critical skills needed to perform the job include: strong leadership skills, technical thought leadership, excellent project management skills, deep experience with computer systems validation, proficiency in Quality Systems business process areas, financial acumen, and strong oral and written communication skills.

This position will require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience. Candidates are required to have a strong and broad-based Information Technology background and must have prior experience managing complex initiatives across multiple business functions in a global environment. Experience managing GxP initiatives is required. Demonstrated ability to effectively and decisively interact with all levels of management is required. Strong and visible communication and influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to drive results through a global matrix structure is essential.
Candidate must be intimately familiar with industry standard Project Management tools; PMP certification is a plus. Experience working with J&J; Project Management methodologies such as FPx is strongly preferred.
